Re: panhard bars and lower control arms. new ones needed?
If you just glide with your car not lowering it i would say not needed.
If you lower your car i would say adjustable panhard bar is needed maybe also brackets to realocate your lower control arms to avoid risks of wheelhop.
If you go to the track i would get both parts with polybushings definitely gets more stability to the rear, you could also box the original parts with a good result as i understand but whats best i dont know.
From my own experience after installing Lakewoods adjustable panhard bar and lower control arms with polybushings rearend got very solid and wheelhop disappeared.
regards Mats

Do you need them, well no. But did you say you were upgrading? Look at the stock ones and the "U" shaped stamped parts and then check out the Spohn Tube type Rear LCA's & Panhard bar. Which ones do you think are better?
I have both + SFC's and they made a hell of improvement.

You could replace just the bushings on your factory parts.

If you are looking to upgrade, you can build your own. It's what I did.
Sorry for the crappy pictures.

Either way, don't run poly in the LCAs if you are looking for handling or a quiet ride. It binds under cornering loads and releases the tension (in interesting ways) when you exit and it squeaks like mad when even if you grease them regularly.

My boxed stock LCA's using ES poly bushings never squeaked once. I did however notice a few times, what I would describe as the "bind". Kinda weird feeling.
I made the exact same LCA's as 91_5.7 there, except the tubes are fully hex.

It's cheap, and AHELLUVALOT easier than trying to change out the bushinge in the stock ones.
So if the bushings are bad (which they most likely are), it's not a bad idea.
On my car I have a replacement stocker PHB that's been boxed in, and Lakewood LCAs with poly bushings. Seems to work great.

Your's didn't squeak? Mine did it just about all the time, especially when it was winter. What brand were yours, maybe a better poly?

Mine are ES (Energy Suspension) all around.
I don't drive my car in winter at all - too dangerous.

Replace stock rubber!!! haha
Driving in winter is only dangerous if the driver can't drive or if there's ice on the roads.
