Powdercoating wheels question
Powdercoating wheels question
I'm thinking about getting some aftermarket rims and having them powdercoated. A little worried about the outer rim, when they put the tire on with the tire machine. Will the tire machine scratch the out rim or should I not even worry about it since its powdercoated? I'm having the whole rim powdercoated one color. Anything else I should know about as far as powdercoating rims goes?

Re: Powdercoating wheels question
A good tire shop should have the teflon ring to lay on the wheel and take the abuse from the machine-----some machines have a teflon face on the foot to keep from scratching. If they won't take you out iin the shop and show you how they plan on protecting you're wheel, don't use them.

Just have them mount the tires from the back side of the rim. Had to do that with my 26" escalade wheels do to the flat lip.
