Tokico Illuminas and IROC springs?

Does anyone have Tokico Illumina struts and Moog 5664 and 5665 (IROC) replacement springs on their car? What do you think about this combination? Even if you don't, I'd still like your input.

I'm running the Moog IROC-style springs with Koni Reds. Even my wife was impressed (always a good thing!)

i got the tokico illumina 5 way adjustables and Eibach Prokit springs. You can really adjust the ride quality and handling feel with those tokicos and they match the stiff prokit springs well. I feel they should also match those Irocz springs just fine as well.

I have those shocks/struts on my 89 RS with WS6 springs that came from a 1987 Formula. BIG improvement over the stock stuff that was originally on the car. Also upgraded the sway bars from 30mm/18mm stock to 34mm/24mm. Pretty stiff ride now.

Something I forgot to ask; those of you who are running Illuminas, what setting do you like to keep them on?

Re: Tokico Illuminas and IROC springs?

depends on what i'm doing. basic comfortable street driving (which i dont realy do anymore ) with the ProKit springs i have, i like to keep the front at 2 or 3 and the rears at 3 to 4. performance driving/max handling feel on the street, i keep the front at 5 (stiffest) and the rear at 4. the ride is hard but not all that bad i got used to it.

drag racing i keep the front at 1 or 2 and the rear at 3 or 4.

Re: Tokico Illuminas and IROC springs?

My fronts are on 3 and my rears are on 4 or 5.
Yeah, I know... I like it that way.

I was just wondering why you used the Moog 5664 front springs....when I search summit racing it gives me a spring for a light duty truck like a jimmy and s10. I was wondering why the choice of that spring and not the Moog 5610, which the search pulls up for the Iroc?? I am also looking for the best springs for my car......after 17yrs and still on the stock struts/shock and springs...just researching before I buy.

Here are the Moog IROC-style replacement springs. Part #5662 and 5665 or CC635 (These are cargo coils with variable rate).

Re: Tokico Illuminas and IROC springs?

I'm about to buy the Tokico struts. Do you think they'll be able to control the beefier IROC 5664 springs? I think I'll contact Tokico as well and see what they have to say. Thought I'd ask here too. Thanks.

Re: Tokico Illuminas and IROC springs?

they should match well since they are adjustable. My Prokit front springs are like 700-750lb springs and the rears are progressive 170 i believe. Those are beefier than stock Irocz springs and my shocks have been great with this car
