Hi,

today i started up my camaro and drove it out of the garage. i noticed a loud cracking/clunking/squeaking noise after a 1/2 turn of the steering wheel in either direction. with the engine off it get's really hard to turn. it sound's like it's coming from the wheel area. besides i noticed that my ps/ pump hose is leaking bad. about a 4 in. puddle in 1 minute....

maybe it's something in the steering box? or did i mess up something?

parts that are new: struts, strut mounts, shocks, wheel bearings, a-arm pu-bushings+ball joint, pu sway-bar endlinks, brake discs+pads

the sound startet after replacing the struts, shocks and a-arm bushings+ball joint.

if the hoses are leaking you hould get them fixed.

how bad does the cracking/creaking sound? is the steering box tearing off the frame? it happens, check it out. Maybe time for a wonderbar

 

i'll check that tomorrow with the front in the air. maybe i can get a video, so you can hear how bad it is. (after refilling the reservoir...

but you're right, 86TA. the steering box is tearing off. what is a good wonderbar? umi?

is this the hose i need?
