Tires rubbing on inner fender with new Moser rear end

I put a Moser 9" rear end in my Camaro, and the rear tires are hitting on the inner lip causing damage to the edge of the tire. I really don't want to put spacers in the springs...don't want that high rear end look. Are there blocks or something like that to put on the rear end itself to stop the suspension travel before the tire makes contact with the fender?

you can roll the fender lip, that really helps. Drag bags will help with limiting the movement of the rear suspension

Can you roll the fender lip without damaging the paint?

use a heat gun and roll the lip with a baseball bat in between the tire and the lip and push down....very easy to do.

Also my moser 9" was spot on, are you sure you ordered it in the right width?

my moser 9" is about 1/2" narrower overall, i didnt order it that way. Maybe just production tolerances? that 1/2" is killing me

If the 9" is a 1/2" shorter now and you are hitting the quarter panel lip, how far did your tires stick out with the factory 10 bolt? Is this a spring height issue?

im rubbing on the inside of the wheel well, by the springs, control arm ect. My wheels do not stick out at all, they are tucked up nicely, a little to nicely at the moment

This will give an even radius?! How the heck do you do it without making high and low spots?

sounds like you need to center the rear in the car. adjustable lca's if you dont have them.
not the 1st time ive heard of this happening, if its getting into the 1/4 panel in the front.

Take your tires off, look for bare metal, hammer away.

Re: Tires rubbing on inner fender with new Moser rear end

Also, are they rubbing on both sides? Cause if not the rear is not centered properly. This has nothing to do with LCA relocation brackets. It's the panhard rod that needs to be adjusted.

Also, with a moser rear you should have longer wheel studs so a 1/4" spacer on each side to make up the 1/2" narrower rear is no big deal.

Re: Tires rubbing on inner fender with new Moser rear end

Yep, I had my 10 bolt centered pretty well, then installed the moser 9 and had to move it another 1/2 inch.

What size tires?

Nice car btw.
