Ball Joint Problem

Anyone ever have a problem where the cotter pin for the ball joint doesnt fit through the grooves of the castle nut, but goes over it? Did I just tighten the nut down too much?

Also, can I ruin the spindle by doing that?

Re: Ball Joint Problem

I would suspect wrong ball joint or wrong castle nut. Compare both to the piece that was removed or the one on the other side.

Re: Ball Joint Problem

I'll do that tommorrow. I'm gonna head down to Napa and get a replacement. This one has been on the car since I got it 2 years ago, and its pretty loose anyway. (the ball joint bearing, not the fit in the control arm.)
