replacing idler arm

replacing idler arm

anything i need to know? any special tools besides a pickle fork i need? Also I read i need to put it in the exact same spot (how do i do that) and that it needs to be paralell to the pitman arm axis or something can anyone clarify on that???

mark around the old arm with a pencil before you remove it, then put it back in the same spot and you are good.

the bolts that hold the arm on can be accessed through the passenger wheel well, the front of the liner needs to be pulled back, or remove the whole thing and then you will see the holes in the frame where you can get the wrench in.

do i need the steering linkage installer to seat the tapers?? J-29193??? or should i just crank down the nut???

Make sure the center link is level when your done, if not this will cause a severe bump steer.

alright ill check it tommorow thanks, its on and everything (didnt use tool do i need it??) along with some new front brakes going to grease all the fittings and align it tommorow at work.
