Steering box leak

I apologize if this is a dumb question but I'm new to steering systems.

On my way home today my 92 v6 Camaro lost its power steering. I drove the last 2 miles then checked the reservoir and noticed it was empty. After refilling it and checking for a leak, I noticed fluid pooling around the high pressure fitting on the steering box. I unscrewed the high pressure line to check the threads and they looked fine. The problem now is I can't screw the line back on and there's a pool of fluid in hole where the line goes . The one time I did get the fitting on it only went half way and leaked fluid faster than before.

Is this normal? Should I replace the hose or the steering box?

Thanks

Re: Steering box leak

Did you check both the line, box or the reservoirs threads too?
"pool of fluid" its normal to see fluid when you unbolt the lines from the box but check the box for cracks and look for abnormal spills or leaks and check the hose to make sure the rubbers not cracked eiether. if the line only went half way back on sounds to me like your starting to cross thread and then its just a matter of finding what's F-ed up
