Is an aftermarket torque arm worth it?
what parts are worth it ?
what would plant the rear tire good enough to get traction opening the carb full throttle in 1st gear using a little clutch?
I got my car to the point where the bodywork is done and the rough draft of the motor is in it running, i didnt expect to have to upgrade the suspension but if i can harness the wheel spin in first gear i would be able to utilize the torque,if i open it up right now the tires would spin all the way through 1 and 2 into 3rd and even chirps the tires going into 4th if your givin'er. the motor is a chev 350 bored and balanced mild performance parts probly around 250-375hp cant tell for sure cause cant get traction but will dyno test just out of sheer curiousity once I add a few more things.
So does anyone have somewhat cost efficient ideas?

Subframe connectors are a must for any thirdgen. To get more traction, you should install lower control arm relocation brackets and use either wider rear tires or stickier tires.
So are you building it to go straight? If your building it to take turns there is a lot more that can be added to the list of items to get.

if its traction you want, your best bet is drag radials on the street.. you can use them for daily driving but its not recommended.. just like tubes in slicks, no one uses them..
but if you want suspension:
crossmember mounted torque arm (BMR, Spohn, UMI, jegster)
subframe connectors (recommended by everyone for any power level past stock)
tubular LCA's (lower control arms)
LCA relocation brackets
adjustable shocks

UMI.. every once in a while the guys at UMI do a group purchase.. you get like 10-15% off so keep an eye out on these boards.. there was a GP in may i believe.. but overall, UMI is the cheapest..

I'd suggest browsing a lot of threads on the suspension board - that way you'll get a good idea about what is available and pick up a lot of extra information on the way.

yeah i think age is my problem when i parked it 8 years ago it was alot tighter and spun donuts off like a champ all I want is traction and to be able to do contrallable fishtails etc... but i really want the car to be tight again the new smaller gt steering wheel is a nice improvement over stock, so if anyone wants an original 83 trans am wheel in good condition willing to trade possibly pay 4 shipping aswell.
