Front Sway Bar Bracket

I took my Front Sway Bar Bracket driver side w/ 3 screws off to paint it and notice that a piece was just separated. Is this bracket broken or is this piece suppose to be this way.
Here is a picture.

Interesting. I don't believe I've ever seen that piece.

Me neither. Is this from an aftermarket setup?

Re: Front Sway Bar Bracket

This is the bracket thats under the steering gear box connected to the frame by three bolts. This bracket has two holes which the driver side sway bar is mounted.

Re: Front Sway Bar Bracket

Do you know where that piece was (the peice you think broke off) in relationship to the rest of it? I remember seeing that piece when I changed my front sway bar a couple weeks ago. I'll have to go take a look at it now.

Re: Front Sway Bar Bracket

It's located under the sreetring gear box, If you look under your car you should be able to see if that small piece is connected to the bracket. If not it will be separated on the back of the gear box. The bolt that holds the small piece together is behind the gear box.
