dust cover problem

dust cover problem

I just bought new rims and the center cap wont fit over the caps on the rotor.Does anyone make a shorter dust cap?Any help is appreciated.

You'll need a bigger (longer) center cap!

Here is what you do.....

Take the dust cover & put a nickle or similar sized washer inside of it & install on the car. Then carefully tap it flat in the center with a hammer. Once it touches the spindle, remove the cover, take out the washer & reinstall the cover. This will give you approx .100" clearance inside from the spindle.

Hopefully this is enough to clear.

I had the same problem with wheels as you are having.....

these are bolt on caps and i dont think bigger caps will look right .
Lonnie I will try your idea , sounds like it may work.
Does anyone make a shorter dust cap?Doesnt seem like it has to be so big.

That worked on my car. My center just touches my dust cover.
