seriously? are you kidding? there are so many threads about lowing, pics of lowered cars, on this site and others.
Dont cut/heat/bend the stock springs, nothing good will become if it. If you want to lower the car, but lowering springs. I dont know how that tire sits in the wheel well, but its a tall tire and you will probably run into clearance issues if you lower it that much.
inatrax makes a 2" lowerin spring, it sits VERY low, almost too low, especially for a 28" tire.
ebiach makes sportlines, about a 1.75 rear drop and a 1.5 front drop, these suck for anything but looks.
they also make the pro-kit, which is about a 1" drop, these are popular and work well.
You just have to consider the tall tires, and the hammering you may have to do in order to lower the car, as well as maybe rolling the fenders to avoid hacking up up the tires when the car goes over bumps.
Also, depending on the condition of the stock spring on your car, the lowering springs may actually RAISE the car from where it is sitting now.
what is the primairy use of the car? drag car? i would not lower it if it is.

You can cut the stock springs if you do correctly and they will work fine. Auto-crossers/road racers do it all the time. Cutting them will both lower the car and make the spring stiffer the more you cut off. But, it's best to do it with new stock springs. You have to use something that will not heat the spring (such as a high speed cut off wheel or a high speed band saw with a new blade), or it looses/alters the steel's temper and the spring is effed. DO NOT just heat the spring. DO NOT bend them. But you can cut them, if done properly and cautiosly. I'd reccomend starting with a half coil, reinstall (correctly) to see where it is, and then another 1/4 coil, and so on. You can always cut more off, but you can't reattach it.
Lowering the car that much (2") will throw things out of balance. I would reccomend at least LCA relocation brackets and either KONIs, Bilstein HDs, or KYBs (in that order) to replace the stock shocks, or the car will blow *** riding and handling.
With tires that tall, lowering the car will be tricky and you might want to try cutting stock ones first. The off the shelf pieces are designed to work with stock tire heights and may interfer with tall tires. If you don't mind me asking, why are your tires so tall?
