Need advice:

To install all UMI SFC (weld only), Panhard Bar, Lower Control arms, Wonder Bar and Moog Springs all around (mechanic suppling Moog springs) how should that cost?

Re: How much should it cost

To install my SFCs and LCARBs it was $120. I'd say for all that it would be something around $300-400 depending on the area. If you have basic hand tools, flat floor (concrete/ashpault) and a jack, you can do the panhard bar, lower control arms, rear springs, and wonder bar without much trouble. The front springs will be more difficult due to the design of the suspension.

As long as you have a set of metric sockets, a ratchet/breaker bar and torque arm, you can very easily do the PHB and LCA in you garage/driveway in one evening. This will probably take about 1.5-2 hours.

The wonder bar takes all of 20 minutes to instal/swap if you have the tools mentioned above.

If you have a decent MIG welder (and if you know how to use it) you could also easily do that in your garage/driveway. The time it takes depends on how thorough you are.

Springs can be done if you go to Autozone (or some place similar) and rent a spring compressor, or if you buy your own. If your doing springs, you might as well do the shocks/struts and strut mounts at the same time since all that will be apart. The fronts take some time but the backs are pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the responses.

A shop by me was quoting $1350 for all the work. Totally @$%%#@^%#%#

FYI: Already replaced the shocks and struts all around when I did the J&M stut mounts. Have KYB adjustables.

I'm not a mechanic by profession or nature and I'm unsure of when I discovered my DIY side (which is quite satisfying), but most of the upgrades you mention are simple unbolt, bolt-ups that you can do yourself. Save some dough and buy other goodies instead of the mechanic.

The springs are another matter. If you're unexperienced, I'd suggest extreme caution or a good dental/medical plan.

Re: How much should it cost

Front springs and welding aside the rest if very simple in/out kind of stuff for a DIY'er. Let them do the fronts and the SFCs.
The trailing arms, wonderbar, and Panhard rod can be done without a jack and a can of redbull in 30 minutes if your racing. The rear springs you'll have to jack it up though, lol.

You could also take out the carpet yourself so that will save you some money if you have someone else weld them in.

No need to remove the carpet. Remove the door sills and put something between the carpet and floor pan. Keep watch but you should be fine.
