Center Link Replacement Problem

I am replacing the centerlink in my 1984 Chevy Camaro v8 5.0L H-VIN, and I'm having a problem getting the tie-rods reattached to the centerlink and the nuts aren't going on all the way. The nuts start getting tight on the tie-rod bolts and then the tie-rod bolts start turning.

Is there an easier way to get the nuts back onto the tie-rod bolts?

Re: Center Link Replacement Problem

Get a pry bar of some type and apply firm upward pressure on the bottom of the tie rod while tightening the nut. This will help seat the taper and allow you to torque on the nut.

You can also squeeze the bolt in with a pair of channel locks or a clamp while you tighten the nut. Anything to seat it in so the taper can grab.
