How does a lowering spindle lower a car

Im working on a design project for school and im going to design lowering spindles that will drop my car 1.5 inches. The only thing i don't know is how the spindles actually lower the car?

Re: How does a lowering spindle lower a car

the spindle which the hub/rotor sits on is raised 1.5" compared to stock, making the car sit lower.
