New Tires!!

Just fitted a set of Toyo Proxes R888s to my vert!

Now I know that the old tires were mismatched and old but

Oh.
My.
God.

the difference is phenomenal, It handles so well, brakes harder and accelerates better and this is before i've touched the suspension or chassis!

Wow.

Sweet!

Side shot?

I would like to see the side profile...

Also - what size tires are those? What rims are they on?

EDIT: They look like 4th Gen rims, correct? Same question though - rim and tire size?

Re: New Tires!!

Those are 91-92 Z28 rims dude. How is the dry/wet traction? Racing tire only? Are they DOT approved? I agree, need side shots and profile along with tire sizing.

Re: New Tires!!

yes 8'ts are DOT approved. and i do not recommend them for daily driveing because they are designed for drag/trrack usage and on wet they are like summer tire on ice

Re: New Tires!!

Ok a few answers:

1. Stock 91 Z28 rims
2. Size is 225/50/16 which I know you will say is too small should be 245 etc but,
3. Price = Free
4. Not recommended for road use - see 3 above
5. My car doesn't see rain because of where I live.. 99% dry and when it does rain you need a 4x4!
5. 100% Street legal

I wasn't going to turn them down because I got new tires which will be good enough until I change the rims for 17s anyway.

They are a lot of fun - never knew a 3rd gen could grip like that as up until these tires it had handled like a shopping trolley!

Re: New Tires!!

Free= sweet. Nice grab. Glad to hear you enjoy the car more with them. That's what's it's all about.
I want a set of dry only tires....but that would make 3 sets of tires. Summer, winter, and dry summer lolz.
