My '89 GTA has the original springs all the way around. I know my front struts are shot and was wondering if the springs are too. The car has 140K miles, tracks correctly, and does not appear to have any damage to the suspension of any kind. With the mileage of the car are new springs in order?

Re: Life Span of stock springs
Your rear shocks are gone too. Most shocks/struts need replacing between 50-80k miles. I don't know what mileage the springs should be replaced at- I've heard things from they never really fatigue to between 75-100k miles. It would probably be a good idea to replace them at 140k miles, though.

I think you are right 91_5.7_TPI. I will start saving for some Pro-kits and a full front end rebuild kit.

shox.com has good prices on spring/shock combinations.
hotpart.com has the best prices I've found for KONIs, if you're going that route.
