GM Style II Power Steering pump

Is it possible to swap in a GM type 2 style power steering pump such as the one pictured, to replace our saginaw style ones?

Thanks,
Ruben

Re: GM Style II Power Steering pump

Anyone? The reason bieng that my P/S pump is giving out and would like to replace it with this particular unit (pictured) before I decide to go with a stock saginaw pump. What about the shaft sizes, do both style units have the same shaft diameter?

Thanks in advance,
Phoenix

yes it can be done - you'll need a remote reservoir, pulley and bracket. heres a link to some type two brackets

Re: GM Style II Power Steering pump

Cool thanks FueledSoul . I figure I'd ask before I played guinea pig for this swap . A bit on a side note, FS, now that you mentioned the Alan Grove brackets, have you used them before? would you happen to know which particular bracket set would fit my TPI L98? As for the type II power steering bracket, would I have to modify the stock alt./ps bracket in order for this one to fit? The pump you see pictured in my 1st post is from detroitspeed.com: http://detroitspeed.com/productpages/steeringvar.htm it comes with a clip-on plastic reservoir which closely resembles our stock saginaw pumps only more 'updated' looking lol.

Thanks again for the info,

Ruben
