What would be the best...

So my suspension is pretty bad when i hit little pumps. but on the high way its smooth. i swear i can feel every unleveld, any size bump in my car as im going through town.
I drive my moms focus right now because of winter and noticed a huge difference, i barely feel anything in the road with that thing other then bad rail road tracks lol.

Is this how all our 3rd gens are? or is there a suspension that would dampen the bumps

If you want it to ride like the Focus, I doub't you'll want to drop it.

Good shocks/stuts like Bilstein HD's or Koni's, but that is alot of $$$$. Then new springs and SFC's

Re: What would be the best...

Your 3rd gen won't ride like your mom's Focus, dude. It's a new car with alot more development into the unibody so it'll make less nose and is probably more rigid. Plus, the Focus was designed to be nice riding comuter for people while the 3rd gen is a 'sports car'.
With that being said, the things to be done to improve ride would be

sound deadening- I've found that my car doesn't really ride as badly as it sounds. The noises produced from hitting bumps makes it you wince and you relate that to 'ride'

nice riding shocks with stock springs- probably standard Bilsteins, because the KONIs are vavled aggressivly for handling and I'd assume the Bilstein HDs are as well. Cheaper brands like Monroes, Gabriels are pretty much junk, but KYBs or Tokicos might work.

replace the worn bushings, etc- bad bushings will possibly allow metal on metal contact, and harshen ride as well as create extra noises
