My 88 has 160k miles and rides pretty bad, road noise drowns out the radio. Wondering if replacing the rear suspension bushings with some new stock rubber would make a worthwhile difference? I have replaced the struts and shocks, no difference that I can tell. Or is it even possible to get decent ride quality out of these cars? I like to drive the car daily in good weather, 80 miles a day commute, so I'm looking for a better ride. And come on, don't suggest a different car, I love this machine.

I'd suggest that in a 20 year old car, the rubber is shot throughout: motor and trans mounts, sway bar bushings, end links, a-arm bushings, etc. and so on. Replacement will be worthwhile.Originally Posted by tom3

Well, if u need new tires soon, u might consider Touring tires as opposed to High Performance or Sport tires. Yes, I'm assuming u have more performance/sport oriented tires on it now.
