Bushings and ride quality

My 88 has 160k miles and rides pretty bad, road noise drowns out the radio. Wondering if replacing the rear suspension bushings with some new stock rubber would make a worthwhile difference? I have replaced the struts and shocks, no difference that I can tell. Or is it even possible to get decent ride quality out of these cars? I like to drive the car daily in good weather, 80 miles a day commute, so I'm looking for a better ride. And come on, don't suggest a different car, I love this machine.

I'd suggest that in a 20 year old car, the rubber is shot throughout: motor and trans mounts, sway bar bushings, end links, a-arm bushings, etc. and so on. Replacement will be worthwhile.

Well, if u need new tires soon, u might consider Touring tires as opposed to High Performance or Sport tires. Yes, I'm assuming u have more performance/sport oriented tires on it now.
