Need help installing rear coil springs
I got a set of moog cargo control springs from summit to help maintain my ride height. I'm planning on a battery relocation and a bazooka sub woofer setup back there, so yeah lots of weight. I did 3 searches and did not find anything about the back. Can someone just give me a quick how to? I know I'll need a spring compressor... what else? I can't see how the driver's side rear interior panel comes off either. I have brand new shocks on there. Had them installed at monro... are those going to be hard to get off/on? Any special equipment for that? Thanks all! - Nate

Re: Need help installing rear coil springs
No spring compressor is necessary for the rear. You will need to remove the rear trim panels and the carpet that covers the shock mounting nuts.
-Remove the shock nuts (one per shock).
-Disconnect the panhard bar from the rear end (1 through-bolt).
-Jack up the vehicle until the springs are free (you'll have to get it fairly high)
-Remove the old springs (they shouldn't be under any compression at this point, just sitting on the spring perches)
-Transfer the isolators to the new springs
-Reinstall the new springs
-Get someone heavy to sit on your hatch or rear bumper to compress the springs
-Reinstall the shock nuts

Re: Need help installing rear coil springs
No need to get into the interior at all, if your just doing the springs.
The shocks do not need to be removed/unbolted from the rear end/bottom mount, to do the springs alone. To take care of the shocks part, just pull the shock mounting nuts off the rear end and swing the shocks off to the side.

Where do you guys jack up the rear from? I'll be replacing mine in the near future and I like the idea of just jacking the car up off the springs. Problem is, whenever I go to jack up the rear, I put the jack under the diff. I'm assuming that won't work if your removing the springs.

Re: Need help installing rear coil springs
I jack up the whole rear of the car on the center of the diff. Slide my jackstands under where the LCAs mount, or the subframe farther inwards. Unbolt what I need to, the use the jack to slowly lower the diff & release the springs.
If your jack isn't tall enough, to drop it down far enough, you can pull both tires to allow the rearend to down farther. Chances are, you'lll hafta do that. The rearend can droop down pretty car.

Re: Need help installing rear coil springs
Ahh.....gotcha. Thanks. I haven't the rear of the car up in the air too many times yet so I'm not as familiar with the rear jacking/stand points as I am with the front.
