So I need a new spindle for my passenger side, and I can't find one anywhere. Dealerships, parts stores, or anywhere online. WTF? Someone has to sell them.

 

This sounds bad man, but the best places for stock spindles are the junk yards. If they let you pull'm yourself it is pretty damn cheap.

Tags, correct, the bone yards are full of them. If you go that direction, make sure that the one you purchase doesn't have end links hole that have elongated--fairly common on our cars, I think.

I just called a junkyard near me and they want $50 each. Is it just me or is that a little excessive?

 

Sometimes yards can be major rip offs. I wanted a 100% perfect pass. side fender and they told me $100!!!! And thats pulling it myself!! they said one with a few dings was $50

 

I always bargained a bit if I didn't like the price. Most yards around here would rather sell, say, at $35 than keep the piece at $50--especially in this economy. But that's in Kansas, who knows how it is elsewhere. BTW, the last spindle I bought was $40.

Good news, I was able to locate one at a salvage yard for $45, and they'll even pull it off the car for me. Only half an hour away.

 

car-part.com is a good resource. Finds local yards in your area or close to you.
