front struts

I am in the process of rebuilding the front end of my 1986 IROC-Z. I just removed the struts and when I compress them, one will rebound slowly and the other won’t; could this be a sign of a bad strut because it doesn't rebound?
If it is, should both struts be replaced?
Thanks in advanced, you guy always have valuable information to share!

yes, and remember struts (and shocks) needs to be replaced in pairs, never ever replace only one.

best regards

How about only doing shocks? I plan on doing the front struts when i "hopefully" upgrade my brakes. MY struts feel fine too.

Id say if the shocks are done the struts wont be far behind....might as well do everything.

Re: front struts

you dont exactly have to do all 4 corners at once but defiently switch the front and rears as a pair never replace just one front or just one rear.

Re: front struts

I just finished replacing both front strutes and at the same time rebuilt the font end including replacing the power steering gear box. WOW what a difference you can feel driving the car now.

I'll be rebuilding the rear bushings and struts soon.
