quick wheel bearing question

I have an 89 camaro that a friend replaced my wheel bearings on. I got bca bearings A6 and A3. The inside bearing and race went on fine. The outside bearing closest to the tire fits good but the race does not fit. The bearing looks a little bigger than the old one so we thought maby the bearing was made bigger to get rid of the race. so we put it in just to see if it would work. Everything fits nice and tight but when on the road you can hear them spinning. It is just a loud spinning noise. Should the races be put in and is there a trick to it? Please let me know.

Re: quick wheel bearing question

Better now than never!

The old bearings should have a part number on them, including the race.

Re: quick wheel bearing question

There is 3 different bearing sizes for our cars. If you don't have the 1le option then you should be using the A34 bearings, The A3 bearings are for the 1le optioned cars.
