Best setup for daily driver?

Here we go.

Looking at the best choices for daily driver set up.

Car I am starting with is a bone stock 1992 RS T Top car. It has the F41 suspension. In good shape. Springs are still good ( car still sets high)

I am looking at the best set up for a daily driver. Good handling and ride.

On my list are,

subframe connectors ( thinking UMI)
Lower control arms. ( do not want poly bushings front and rear due to bind, would like something that pivots)
adj. panhard rod.

I am thinking of keeping the stock springs, but removing the rear rubber spacer to lower it a little.

Not sure what the sway bars are, but I assume they are large.

I also have a hollow 36mm and 22mm rear bar off my other car.

Sturts and shocks. Something good, but reasonable, I am thinking AGX.

SO, what do you guys suggest?

Re: Best setup for daily driver?

Sounds pretty good. Might want to look into Hotpart.com's poly-ball design. Seems to be a good combination of comfort and performance. I think the sway bars with the F41 are 34/21. Don't forget LCARBs as well as the LCAs. How much of a budget do you have on shocks? The KONIs would probably mess with the comfort, but they'll really help handling. Tokicos might be a good middle of the road. Oh, and don't forget to replace all the bushings and crap on the car that'll probably be shot. Strut mounts are a must, as well.

And Wonder Bar / Steering Brace...

I did much of what you did, went with Spohn SFC's, Poly LCA's and Pahnard bar... Non adjustable, cuz I didn't lower the car... If you're going to lower it, then maybe the relocation brackets as stated, but if keeping stock height, keep all the parts non adjustable...

It really makes the car handle much better...

Yeah, I forgot about the wonder bar.
You might want to consider the adjustable stuff anyway, even if you don't plan to lower. You may change your mind down the road. Once the bug bites...lol

Hello
Thank you for considering UMI Performance! I noticed that you are interested in a set of SFC's part # 2400 (will not work if you have dual cats) and we also have a a lower control arm and pan hard bar combo part # 201621. These will give you a good ride with the poly one the chassis side and rodend on the rear and you will still have the adjustment if needed as well. And we also have you covered on the steering brace as well! If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be glad to help! Below is a few links to show you what we have to offer.

Thanks Again

Oh, and TIRES!!! I'm retarded. You need to get good tires if you are you wanting to handle well. You'll be amazed the difference it makes.

Re: Best setup for daily driver?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I do not plan on going crazy with this car. I have my iroc with all the race stuff.

Also, about the springs. Here is what I have to choose from.

The stock f41 springs on the car.

I have a set of Moog HD replacements for the IROC, with 1/2 coil cut of the front and 2 off the rear. They set low but not crazy low, and are stiff.

I also have a pair of rears off my 1993 z28 that I just got rid of.

I am planning on going with 18"s soon, and will be running 245/40/18 tires.

I will be replacing the sway bar links as well as front a arm bushings with polys as well.

I don't want to spend $1000 on struts and shocks.

I am considering KYB AGX and Tokico illiuminas.

Re: Best setup for daily driver?

KONIs aren't $1000... just $700-800 lol. The Tokicos would be my choice from those two. I'd probably go with the cut Moogs, if it were me. Everything else seems to be in order.

Wow, they've went down since the last time I priced them. Good stuff.
