Hi all. First post so don't be cruel. Just purchased a 89 RS for a street/strip build and noticed the panhard mount on the chassis is slotted on the rear part and about the size of a quarter on the front. Are pieces or kits available for repair? Don't want to weld washers in to fix the holes. Any help would be great!!! Thanks

 

By slotted, do you mean cracked?

Or is the spot your talking about made that way, to allow for tolerances between parts?

The bolt that holds the panhard bar to the chassis bracket beat an egg shaped hole on the chassis mount on the rear side, and the front side is wallowed out to size of a quarter. Looks like the bolt had been run loose for a long time. Computer challenged on uploading pics, may have my daughter help if needed.

 

no repair kits available. You could go to the junk yard, find another 3rd gen, cut that bracket off and use it for pieces, or use washers, or make a patch plate with sheetmetal and welding it in.
