Looking for someone to help me figure out what this is. I am guessing this the driver side lower control arm bracket that connects to the subframe. Can anyone help me verify/correct this assumption? And anyone knows, how hard to fix the cracked/broken piece shown in the picture and what the would entail?
I first noticed the problem when I got the 16in Z28 rims put on and the driver side tire started rubbing the rear of the wheel well really bad. It is about an inch too far towards the rear of the car when compared to the passenger side wheel.
I can also see (can't really see it in the picture) that the front piece of the lower control arm is being pulled rearward at a sharper angle than the passenger side bracket, I'm guessing due to the back fork's connecting bracket being cracked and allowing the arm assembly to slip back, turning the control arm outward and bring the whole wheel assembly backwards.
Car is a 92 RS 305 w/holley carb.

looks like somebody hit something really hard with the wheel and broke the k-member bracket. I think those parts are formed to the metal, not welded, it almost looks like somebody tried to fix it and it broke again.
You can take the car to a good body shop, they should be able to repair it, or pickup a different k-member from a junkyard, ebay, the classifieds, ect, and have it swapped.
Hopefully thats the only damage and the frame is not bent.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I'll be taking a trip to the body shop on Monday - hopefully its just that easy.
Just an update for whoever is interested. The lower control arm bracket is broken, and the previous owner went so long without fixing it that it did indeed bend the front subframe. $400 - $600 estimate for frame machine time to fix the damage.
