drag car

I have 91 rs t-top im putting a 12.1 427 bb With turbo 400 with trans brake with moser 12 bolt 411 gears. My question is i dont want to tub it so im looking at bmr or spohn suspension parts. what is the best combination and how big of slick and what rim width and back spacing 15'. I dont mind doing some massaging I have built several cars rx7 tubed 69 chevell 67 elcamino witch were all tubed. These camaros with there goofy rear suspension is a new game for me.Any help would be much apreciated.

Re: drag car

I have heard you can get as much as 6.5" backspacing with some "massaging" of the inner wheel well. Also, around a 30" diameter with more "massaging". I personally haven't gotten there yet, but will soon.

Re: drag car

I had 15 x 10 rims with 5.5" of backspace and managed to squeeze a MT 29.5 x 10.5 ET drag slick under the fenders but needed to do a lot of inner fender modifications.

Re: drag car

Thank you for the rim an tire info. With bmr or spohn rear suspension parts is one better than the other.

not really, i just dont like Spohns a-arms and k-member, too many complaints. Other than that, they both make really good parts.
Check out UMI too, they also make suspension parts for these cars, truly top quality stuff and good prices too.
