I have a set of 1.25" spacers that are wedged on so tightly I have no idea how to get them off. The inner ring of the donut shaped spacer is slightly smaller than the circular piece that protrudes from the center of the screws the lugs go onto. The only way they even went on was from tightening the lugs down with an impact wrench. What's worse is that one side went on slightly crooked and causes slight tire wobble, it's impossible for me to get off so is there a way I can pull off the entire piece where the stud screws are while keeping the brand new drum brakes? I know this is probably hard to picture, especially with me using novice terminology. I can take a picture or try and draw a diagram later. Anyone had a similar problem or now how I should correct this? Thanks

 

See if a steering wheel puller with fit at least 2 opposite wheels lugs. With the center pushing in on the axle & pulling out on the lugs (like it would do a steerin wheel) it moght work.

Worst case? Make your own puller that will fit.

#1, I believe in running wheels that fit correctly & don't require adapters & 20 more lug nuts....But that is just my opinion.

#2 and most important in your case.....You shouldn't have forced them on with the lug nuts & impact wrench. If they didn't fit, you could have had the centers machined out to fit, at any local CNC machine shop, to get it done quickly. I know Skulte offered his adapters machined that way, for a reason. To fit correctly.

 

Most important!!!! Never force something together, that just increases the possibility of failure. You could have lost a wheel, or worse. Tightening them on like that was a very bad idea.

Is there any space between the spacer and the hub surface? see if you can drive something in there, like a cold chisel or prybar and work your way around the pacer and try to pop it off.

After this throw the spacers away, they have been compromised and should not be reused, and the rotor itself maybe damaged too, have to wait and see.

 

I wasn't the one who put them on. I'll try the puller... it's on pretty tight though.

 

Maybe an air chisel?
