Re: SFC's or cage?

if i rember right you get the subframe connectors on first and then you use the weld the roll cage to the sub frame connectors

Re: SFC's or cage?

Unless you have a tube chassis, you need both. The cage protects the driver. Although it adds some rigidity to the car, it doesn't tie the front and rear subframe together like SFC do.

My car got SFC put in 10 years ago. I now have a full cage and still have the same SFC.

If it's a street car dont put a cage in it, it's nearly impossible to build a good cage that wont cave your head in in even a minor accident. They need to be used with a helmet and harness or not at all.

Hell I got a good bump on my head from a friends harness bar (about 1" dia thin guage tubing) when he accelerated to hard. This was in a FWD Mazda with 148 WHP as measured on a dyno that same day.

Re: SFC's or cage?

I agree completely. Go SFCs. Then if you are just racing, do a cage. It is not safe to run a cage while not wearing a helmet. It gives too many solid places to smash your head against in an accident.

But yes, SFCs first, mount them as solid as possible (weld), then run the cage through the floor and weld to the SFC.

Hello, i would agree. Go with the frame connectors first then get the cage installed. You can tie the cage into the connectors for added strength. We have two different styles of weld in connectors. Both are weld in units that reinforce the front lower control arm mounting point. Here is a link to our site. If you need any assistance please give me a call.
