so I installed a new moog outer tie rod end and for some reson its alittle to long. I just need to clear one more thread turn and im home free but its already touching the inner tierod. so what im i to do. should i grind it down? would having it with 1 less thread turn really matter? before i took my old tie rod off i counted 6 threads and with the new one on i count 7.

 

should have measured, they could be longer or shorter, the threads wouldn't matter then.

grind the end down a bit, there's usually a round bump on the end that you can flatten out without damaging the threads. Gat an alignment afterward anyway

 

but would it mess thinks up if it was one thread off?

 

the car wont explode or catch fire or anything, but it will affect the alignment a little, you toe in will be off. You may never even notice it.

take it for a drive, see what happens
