att. brake guru's(disc brake noise)

i have a problem i cant solve with my front discs on my daily driver(98 chevy suburban 4wd), i have a annoying squealing noise that starts after the brakes are warmed up(sounds like when pads are junk and the squaler rubs)
and the sound only stops if i apply the brakes or turn the wheel hard, have tried 3 different kinds of pads and now have perf. frictions, i have also turned the rotors. tomorrow i am checking the backing plates and putting some of the silicon stuff on the backs of the pads(gm mech. suggested it) if this doesnt work i am going to have a sh** fit.
so if anyone can think of anything else i should check or try, PLEASE, PLEASE post a reply
thanks in advance

Shims might due the trick. They install behind the pads. They are designed to eliminate brake noise, however I believe it is with the brakes applied.

It might be that your caliper piston is not retracting fully, or the caliper is not sliding on the pins properly. Might need to disassemble and clean and lube the pins.
