doors feel loose
doors feel loose
Hey guys i have a little prob that makes me nuts, the doors on the car are loose i think. i need to tighten them suckers how do i go about doing that. also can i tighten my t tops any tricks for that. thanks
for your doors i'd guess you need new bushings and pin in the hinge. not too hard a job to do and only cost about 5 dollars. no ideas about your t tops.

I just had this done to my car. I went in to have the bushings replaced because the doors were sagging a bit and since I am putting a shaved door handle kit in I wanted them to open/close smoothly. After taking my car in I was told that they had already been replaced and it couldn't be done again - so I had to order new hinges and get them put in instead. World of difference on the noise level inside the car with new hinges! Nice and quiet now - still have a little bit of rattle because the latch pillars are worn out where the latch strikes.
You can tighten up your T-Tops (at least make them pull down tighter) by removing the two plastic interior pieces on the pillars (both front and rear) and adjusting the "hole" for the top downward by loosening a couple of screws. It's easier to know what I'm talking about when you're actually looking at. Suffice it to say, the hole that your t-top drives its shaft into is adjustable up and down - take off the interior pillar pieces to see.
