Installing a Centerlink...

Can this be done in my driveway? I've never had to change one, but now I think I have to. My steering is wobbly, and the center link appears to be loose. Thanks.

Yes, it can be done. If you dont already have one, get a pickle fork (that big tuning fork looking thing) and a 5 pound hammer. You might want to replace the idler arm at the same time since its attached to the center link and they wear out all the time. Get Moog parts too

There can be only one!!

Thanks for the info. I dont think I have a pickle fork, but I knw what you are talking about. The idler arm was recently replaced (Moog), and I was planing on getting Moog parts. So to install it I just pound it back on?

In theory, yes.

I changed the Center-link on my 85 Z28 last year. It took a lot longer then expected. Memory is a little foggy, but I seem to recall using large clamps and a floor jack to help get the Center-link back in place. It's a very tight fit, which you'll realize when trying to get it off. It's very straight forward, but I found it difficult none-the-less. Good luck.

Don't pound it on. Just insert the tierod ends back through their respective holes and the centerlink through its. Start all the nuts and torque. Whereyou might have a problem is that ocassionaly the ends of the tie rod or centerlink may want to turn. If this happens take a clamp and force the 2 parts together or use a jack to put pressure on until you reach the proper torque. Its not too hard though. Good luck
