When I take a sharp turn, I have alot of steering wheel play, IE: the steering wheel turns, but the wheels don't do anything. This is only during sharp, fast turns...
Is there something worng, or is this normal...

It's not really normal, but it just means that some parts are worn out. Could be any of these things: center link, idle arm, or tie rod ends (inner or outer). I replaced all of those parts on my IROC this spring and it -really- tightened up the steering and feedback I get from the tires.
Replacing them is cake, although I had my local shop replace the idler arm when I had the control arm bushings and ball joints replaced.
