Help plz: Brakes make a harsh brushing sound...
Under light braking, the brakes make a scratching/brushing sound... as if there was something like a leaf stuck between the pads... checked, there isn't. I have front discs and rear drums. A mechanic "fixed it" for a while, but it's back. It goes away when I press the brake pedal all the way, but under normal braking (i.e. approaching stop signs or in parking lots) the "chrick chrick chrick"
(heh' best I could do) is always there. Anyone know what might cause this? Ever had this problem? Could be the rear-drum springs that are worn and aren't pushing the pads against the drum evenly? I replaced the springs about a month ago (mechanic's temporary solution). Plz help... the sound is fully audible so that onlookers who hear my flow quickly wipe their grins off once they hear the brakes, lol.
