brake light will not go off

after I installed a new master cylinder my brake light will not go off. I believe it is linked to the propertioning valve. How can I adjust the pv?

How's your brake fluid level? I don't habe an answer to your PV question but I have seen on a lot of cars that when the braked fluid gets really low then the E-brake light comes on as a warning to fill the brake fluid. I don't know if our 3rd gens are like that but my Festiva is, I wonder about my Firebird if it does that, who knows.

Have you bleeded the brake system with care, mine was flashing a brake light too when changed the pads to all four corners and I thought that I pumped the air outta system correctly, I felt no difference braking with little air in the system, but then I bleeded again all corners and the light went off.

there is a small piston, or valve inside the porpoting valve. i'd say it's stuck. try rebleeding all 4 brakes and tap it lightly with a hammer and see if it frees up.

Oh that f'ing brake light! I saw that too many times when I did my axle swap. Turned out I had a bad master cylinder that was sucking air back in. Either yours could be bad, or maybe there's still air in it. The m/c has a "quick-take-up" valve in it that's a major pain to get the air out of.
