I have a 92 Z28 convertable.
I just purchased some ZR1 camaro ss wheels 17 by 9.
Will 315/35/17's fit on the rear and 275/40/17 on front.
What about 285/40/17 all corners.

First of all, the ZR1 vette wheels and the Camaro SS wheels are different. The vette wheels are 17x9.5(fr) and 17x11(r) while the SS wheels are 17x9 all around.

No, you don't want to run a 315/35/17 on a 17x9 because it is too wide for the wheel.

The 275/40/17 is ideal for the 17x9 all the way around, however, the 285/40/17 will work but imho looks too fat for the wheel. Also, I believe that you will need spacers for these wheels to fit. You should be able to get the spacers from Andris Skulte(sp?) or Vette Brakes.

Your correct I have the camaro ss wheels
17 x 9.
If I used the 17 x 11 would the 315x35x17 fit in the well on the rear.
Trying to resolve traction problem.
Also has anybody put 17x9 with 285x40x17 on a 3rd gen.

Yes, the 17x11 with 315/35/17 will fit in the well. There should be some guys around here that have pics of this setup. Good luck.
