Re: how to set up suspension

i can't exactly tell what it's doing in the picture. is it just torquing the chassis or is there some tire shake?

Re: how to set up suspension

kind of looks to me like its laying over on the rr so hard that its steering the car with the rear end. my two suggestions would be stiffer rr spring and lca relocation brackets. but, a little more info on the car would help...how much hp/tq? or atleast what kind of times does it run? and 60' times might be helpful, too.

Re: how to set up suspension

the easy thing to do would be add a air bag to the RR spring.

when you say " the passanger side tire some times hits the fender"
your talking the RR tire Right?

then yesssss add a air bag.. or get the spring set with the air bag.
saw one just sold on ebay for $60 with springs..

Re: how to set up suspension

when the pic was taken, it had a 30 over 350, 268 cam, air gap intake, 600 holly carb b&m 3000 stall converter, and stock 350 tranny with 26x10.5 slicks 3:27 gears. it ran a 9.447 at 73.64 in the 1/8, 60 ft was 2.134. but now it has a 414 stroker, aluminum head victor sr intake, 750 holley double pumper, rebuilt 350 tranny stage 2 shift kit, 3:70 gears have not had it to the strip yet to see what she will do.

Re: how to set up suspension

a big rear sway bar, or a drag bar/antiroll bar would help if its primarily a drag car.

Re: how to set up suspension

wow, I'm surprised it did that running those times. my best 1/8 mile with my v6 is a 9.51 @ 74 and I've pulled a 2.04 60' on street tires with bone stock suspension (only boxed lcas) and it always went straight as an arrow.

Re: how to set up suspension

all bushings are new energy bushings, new shocks, springs, the car dead hooks no spining at all, one had the rim spon in tire moved about 3". the track isn't that good either the races are held at an airport they spray some tration compound down and drag some rubber, my car is one of few that can hook up good, every one else spins till the 60 ft or more. what do they make that i could buy to stiffen the rear springs, is there an acutual kit for the camaro. thanks jason

Re: how to set up suspension

doesn't moog make a HD or cargo spring that's a high spring rate? or, as mentioned above, get a air bag that goes inside the rr spring. a larger rear sway bar may help but i think i'd try the spring/bag route, first.

Re: how to set up suspension

So I finally got out to race new motor on July 15. I added a set of air bags and it helped a lot, right rear doesn’t squat as much now, best time of day was 7.632, 93.36 mph, 1.817 60 ft, in the 1/8. Made it in to the quick 16 out of 65 cars, but lost out first round.

Got out again Aug 15. Changed out gears to 3:70, changed to a 29x11x15 slick, and ran 110 race fuel. But was cold out in the morning, couldn't hook at all, ran 8.758, 7.908, and 8.299. Again made it to the quick 16, but did get it run because power wire came off distributor during burn out. in the after noon ran a few grudge matches and ran best time yet, 7.508, 94.14 mph, 1.803 60 ft.

Car still has more in it if I could get better traction, spins ¼ track or more.
