loweribg, cutting coils & shocks

b = n

Did anyone ever come across a good way to cut the rear springs and not have them fall out with the susp. at full droop? I could install some droop limiting straps but a cleaner install would be a set of rear shocks with a shorter extended length. Did anyone ever find a set that would fit?

I still need to lower the rear a bit but cut like I have it now is as short as they will go without being able to pop out (they are cut Iroc springs)

before

after, it will come down a little more, still have to swap out the pass side spring & strut (so this is one long, one short spring)

Rear really needs to come down, too much r3dneck rake now.

how much shorter does the shock need to be? could you just relocate the lower shock mount a little?

or if you know what rates you need for the shocks, you can order universal shocks from various companies in various lengths. Koni, bilstein, proshocks, afco, ect ect. Stock is about 19.5 eye to stud

Re: loweribg, cutting coils & shocks

That would position the shocks about an inch or 2 lower, a shorter shock is a much easier solution. I still have some mustang fox body adjustable konis somewhere, I'll check if those are shorter.

I figured someone might have already found something that works.
