Special Tools Needed for Brake Job
My IROC will need a brake job soon, I'm gonna do it myself. What, if any, special tools will I need to either do the job right or make it easier? Thanks.

Front:
- C-Clamp
- 3/8 Hex on a 3/8 drive ratchet
- 12mm wrench
Crush the piston in preferably using the old pad to make sure you press it in strait and complete
Use brake grease to lube the slide points and caliper bolts. Anti-Squeal on the back is good idea.
Rear Drum
- Assmt. of needlenose and regular pliers and/or specialty pliers (not req'd) and patience trying to remember where everything goes
Rear Disc
- I have yet to find an easy way to do these. It usually involves me c-clamping and spinning that little bas$ard of a notch away from the gizmo in the pad and fighting with the e-brake lever and getting really pis-ed off saying I wish I kept the drums. 5 hrs later I finally get it lined up.

My 8 year old son can do the front almost by himself with the aformentioned tools. He just has to remember when he's using the 3/8's hex it goes to your other left to loosen and to your other right to tighten, ....DOH!
ede, The bolt in question is on the back and points away so you can lefty losey all day long and you'll be doing the righty tighty.
Besides I remember, It's the kid that has problems. And I think he does pretty darn good to be doing brakes at 8, now if I could only get him to clean his room.....
