What does a line lock do? I've heard about them but don't totally understand how they work. Do they just lock the brakes so you can do a burnout with a manual? Are the rear brakes still engaged? Will this burn up your rear brakes?
You install them to lock up just the front brakes - thereby leaving the rears free to spin.

It's just simply a device that goes inline with the front brake lines. When it's "on" it prevents the brake fluid from losing pressure in your front brake lines, even with your foot off the brake.
To use it, you put your put on the brake, engage the line lock by holding the button in the interior, then take your foot off the brake. The solenoid keeps the brake pressure on the front brakes and lets the rear brakes release. Now you can do burnouts without using up your rear brake pads, when you're ready to move just let go of the button.
