I won't say they are the best, but I have Competition Engineering weld ins. They been on the car for a couple of years and they work great. Best part is,they're only $79.99 in Jeg's

Whoa! Download Alston's catalog. There is a $10 coupon off of your next purchase. That would bring the grand total for their subframe connector to $78. They look pretty stout as well. More so than the ones offered in Jegs. Not quite as beefy as Spohn's, but half the price. I was seriously considering a Spohn purchase, but....... I think we have a winner.

Opinions???

Hollysh*t, I did not you could get Alstons so cheap, everyone was telling me 170... I wonder how much different there is between Alstons weld-ins vs bolt-ups.

If I'm not mistaken the cheaper set of Alston's are only the sidebars. The 200 dollar set is the full frame type with crossover bars and all. Those are more like Steve Spohn's, and SSP's are lower priced than the Alstons. I just ordered Steve's can't wait!

From what I've seen of Spohn's (pictures on web page) the only thing that his have over Alston's is the piece that runs to the cross member. They are the same length and weld in at the same spots, rear of front wheel well and front of LCA. Why would you spend double the money??

------QUOTE FROM SPOHN-----

Our "truss-style" framing system is constructed of 1.5" x 2.5" x .120" wall tubing for serious, uncompromised rigidity. The frame rail connects to the front lower control arm mounting area and runs the entire length of the rocker panel, it ends at the rear side of the front wheel well. The main shaft is formed to fit the contour of the floor board, providing for weld contact area the entire length of the frame shaft, and no ground clearance loss.

From what I read Kenny Bown and Alston make the only SFCs which fit convertables.
