ok how bout this set up!!
ok how bout this set up!!
ok i got to looking in summit magazine tonight and i saw the belltech kit on page 193 in the new magazine.. for the 82-91 3rd gen, front spindles will drop the car 2 inches and the rear springs will drop it 1.5 inches if i was to get those two items is that all i would need and everything would be cool? see i want to lower it down just enough to take care of the wheel gap i have. that is very ugly in my opinion! but the way it looks if i just wanted to lower the front i could just buy the drop sindles and that is it. i think that is what i might do. are they hard to install? can i use my stock ws6 springs? would i have to have any alingment after i had them put on? how bout the struts how would they hold up or are there special struts u need to use if u use drop spindles? thanks gus fro all the help!

The cool thing about the drop spindles is that your factory alignment settings remain the same. If you are careful with the installation, and mark each part in the front in relation to the others you've got to take off, you should be able to slide without an alignment. I would've bought a set, but 2" is too much drop for me. I went for the Eibach Pro-Kit with 1" drop.
see thats all i really want is 1" inch drop all the way around but everyone or i should say a few say that the set up i first thought about which is all eibach pro springs but since i have a formula they say i wont see a difference. and that just doing springs really screws things up but if it screws things up then why do it? so either it really messes things up or it doesnt! i would just soon get a set of eibach springs and have the tire shop do it and give me the alingment but if its dangerous like some say tehn i dont wana do it... and if im not going to see a difference then i also dont wana do it. all i want is to get rid of the wheel well gap. performance i would like a little but mainly just get rid of the gap. i am not going to be road racing just drag racing but it is also a somewhat daily driver.

I installed the belltech dropped spindles with jamex 1.5' springs, for a total of 3.5"
drop. There is No fender/tire gap. This setup is way to low for a daily driver.
Either way you go,if you install the spindles you WILL need an anlignment. After the install I had to cut the tie-rod bolts an inch so I could pull the toe in and take it for an alignment.

If it was dangerous, no one would buy or sell lowering springs! The only thing that screws people up is that the alignment is not to the factory settings with drop springs. This dicks up the guy doing your alignment. Ask any person on this board who has a Pro-Kit on their car, and they'll say they'd do it again in a heartbeat.
