Help - Caliper removal

Hey guys.
I'm having some difficulty removing the pins on my 89's front caliper. I'm using a hex-head attachment in my socket wrench and turing the wrench clockwise (sitting beside the car)
It is stubburn and stuck. What can I do?

Notes:
  • I do not have any air tools and shocking it with a hammer has has no effect.
  • I only have a small jack so I can't get the car too high off the ground.
Thanks

Looking at the bolt, you should be turning it counterclockwise. Try some WD-40 and let it soak. If you cant get it to budge, try using a big breakerbar on it, possibily with a pipe attached to the end. You may have to turn the steering all the way to the side to fit that in though.

Thanks Justins86bird

Okay, these things are stuck.
I just broke my 1/4" socket attempting to remove the same bolt.

I've used a size 10 hex head adapter in a 1/4" socket on my wrench. I thought I heard people say to use a 3/8" hex head but it is too big.
I guess I have no choice but to wait until May and take it into a shop.
Damn

From: pgh,pa,
use a 3/8 in hex head and a 3/8 in drive ratchet, soak that bad boy with some PB blaster or wd 40, then take a wack at it , if that dont work, heat that ***** with a torch for a few mins, and it should come right out, just dont break the head off it, man does that suck ,and it is no fun to remove after that.

Wow never saw one that stuck before
I've always just used a regular hex wrench
usually tapping it with a hammer a bit to
get the bolt broke loose. Make sure you clean the bolts back up before reassembly so that the caliper slides smoothly on it and and doesnt hang up.

I used a Mastercraft socket.
The 3/8 hex doesn't fit.
I'll ask the guys around town.

For my car I use a regular 3/8" allen wrench (L-shaped) and use a 8 inch pipe as a cheater bar. If it's really stuck then I've tapped the bar with a hammer. It's always worked for me pretty well.
