10 inch 1LE front brakes?

I was looking at my car the other day for a couple hours when i noticed that the front brakes were smaller than the rear brakes. I measured the rear brakes some timea ago and read 11 inches.. but the front one seam to be about an inch smaller? Could a dealer have made the hurendous mistake of replacing the rotors with smaller ones? Would he have had to replace the calipers and other suspension pieces too? How much do new 1LE front rotors and calipers cost? Any help appreciated.

Are you sure you have a 1LE car? The front brakes that came on all '91 non-1LE Camaros were 10 inch rotors with single piston cast iron calipers. The 1LE had 12 inch rotors and dual piston aluminum calipers. I really doubt that the dealer replaced the 1LE brakes with the smaller ones. Unless he changed the spindles also, he could never have done this. Check your RPO codes and double check if you have the 1LE code or the J65 (regular front brakes) code.

ya its a 1le. It has the aluminum driveshaft, 11 inch rear drums, and it has the 1LE code in the glove box. It has been hit in the passanger side front front somewhere because it has a frame welding near the passanger foot.

Rear drums?? You mean discs right? AL driveshafts mean nothing, all my GTA's have had them. My '89 (as well as everyone else's) had the same rear discs that year and up. The rears should be close to 11.5" and the fronts 12", both with PBR calipers and the fronts sporting dual pistons. Double check your codes with the sticker in the trunk, or figure out your 5th gear ratio is.
