Stock sway bar sizes
Can someone please tell me where i can find stock front and back sway bar sizes for third gen trans am's. I'm thinking about hitting the junkyard to find some, instead of paying a lot for aftermarket bars. Also whats a good combo for my 85 305 5 speed? It's a daily driver but i want to improve the handling when i'm hitting those fast corners! I'd really appriciate any advice.

Re: Stock sway bar sizes
there are many different combos, the largest are 36mm front, 24mm rear. Most people have good luck with this combo, but it has a lot to do with your other suspension parts too, tires, shocks struts, ect ect ect
pick up a cheap digital caliper and measure them before you pull them.

I just measured mine, and I got a tad over 34 mm on the front and a tad over 24 mm on the rear, and the biggest sizes made by Energy Suspension are 34 mm for the front and 24 mm for the rear, as far as metric sizes.

Re: Stock sway bar sizes
IIRC the camaro didn't get the larger 36mm bar until 91. whereas the birds had them as early as 87. The camaro used a heavier spring rate with the 34mm bar.

Some Camaros were equipped with the 36/24 combo from 89-92, some 'Birds from 86-92.

Re: Stock sway bar sizes
I think your sway bar thicknesses are just fine, and with all your other mods, your car should be handling like a dream. I would guess thicker sway bars would make the car even stiffer but maybe not enough to justify the expense, especially since you've got your suspension system pretty much done it seems.
Lowering your car (I'm thinking the springs you chose did not lower the car much or at all) and getting adjustable panhard rod and lca relocation brackets would probably be your best improvement, over thicker sway bars.
That's my opinion, since I've always got a very noticeable result from lowering my cars, without any other suspension changes.

Re: Stock sway bar sizes
It also depends what you use your fbody for.
I know someone who was very into road racing and solo courses. He found the 24mm bar made the rear slide too much and switched back to a 19mm.
Find a starting point and see if it suits your needs.
