SS Camaro wheels don't fit '95 rear!

I have a set of 1997-8 Camaro SS (ZR-1 style)wheels and tires I'm installing now. I pulled the rear out of my '86 and sold it, and replaced it with a disc-brake 1995 Camaro Z28 rearend, so I can use the wheels. The problem is the wheels don't fit the hub snout. The bolt pattern and all is the same, but the wheel will center, but not seat on the hub. There is a 1/2" gap between the contact surface of the wheel and hub. I took out the centercaps and saw there is a small lip on the inside of the wheel going inwards...where the snout fits...do these need to be filed smaller? I have the right hardware...what's going on? Anybody have this problem?

They may be centering rings press fit into the wheel. You might be able to pop them out with a screwdriver or something, but first make sure that's actually the case.

just file down the center of the rim a bit with a grinder. I think its the one thats like a flapping wheel. it has sand paper flaps on it. Am I making any sense? anyone know about the grinding/sanding attachment I'm talking about?

Yeah, I know. They use those in porting kits. Not a bad idea. It's just a tiny bit off, so it shouldnt take long. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
