did i do this right?

Hey guys, I finally got around to start rebuilding the front end in my 91 Trans Am WS6. Today I was putting in the new steering links, and something doesn't feel totally right with my center link. I was able to bolt down the "stud" holding one side to the idler arm quite a bit more than the side attached to the pitman arm. Here's a couple pictures:

You can see how the gasket/washer is squished a bit more on the idler arm side:

pitman arm:

Is that something I would want to address? I was able to torque down the idler arm bolt pretty significantly compared to the pitman arm. I torqued the pitman arm one as hard as I could and that's the best I got. The center link and idler arm are brand new Moog parts; the pitman arm is still original.

You will have to turn the wheel to be able to get a socket on the pitman arm side. I just did mine today, between 35-40 ft/lbs.

Thanks but yeah I know, I already did that. It's still just like in the pictures.

I just put on my Spohn front end rebuild kit and it is the same way. I don't think its a problem if the stud is seated in the hole.

Re: did i do this right?

If it's torqued properly as you say, and it is parallel with the idler arm, then it's fine.
