Re: weld in subframe connector

I've put inner and outer subframes on my car.... Had a good experience with them.. Can jack the car with them as well. It's your choice, but I would recommend getting the inner AND outer with that much power, especially since you have a t-top car (like mine). I found having both made it stiffer.

Re: weld in subframe connector

Thanks! The hooker Y is about .5" away from the sfc, plenty of room and there isn't any discoloration on the powdercoat. A stock Y will have even more room, but i haven't had a problem.

Hello Tony
Thanks for suggesting UMI Performance! We do offer a weld on SFC that will tie the weakest points of the frame together. Below is a link to show you what I am explaining. The only issue that may occur is if you have duel cats on the exhaust (there might be a clearance issue). And below at the bottom of the ad is the install pics so you can see how they look.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Thanks
Brad

Re: weld in subframe connector

yes both is better.... i have pics of bmr and alstons welded on mine.... look for alstons and bmr subframe connectors with pictures... or something like that.... i have a hard top but both set are really worth it... i did the bmrs first.... they added noticeable stiffness and reduced squeaks and rattles..... then adding alstons stiffened it even more reducing even more rattles.... the car feels so solid and it feels excellent.....

Re: weld in subframe connector

Yes that's what we cann inner and outer frame connectors...... The alstons were close to 200 and the bmr were about 250.... Plus 100 to weld them.... But they are definitely worth it... Also get a strut tower brace and a wonderbar to really stiffen it all up.... Juwt make sure you put them on with the suspension fully loaded, meaning all four tires on the ground.....

Re: weld in subframe connector

As 88fastgta stated, his alston/BMR setup is an inner (alston) and outer (bmr) combination of subframe connectors. He felt a difference in his hard top with one, and even more with the other one, so with your t-tops you will SURELY feel a great difference I can assure you. Off the top of my head these are the brands (in no order of quality):

inner:
MAC
ALSTON
HOTCHKISS

outer:
SPOHN
UMI
BMR
